In the sub-salt series of strata in north-northwestern step-fault zone of Pre-Caspian Basin, there are 4 sets of premium hydrocarbon source rocks with high abundance of organic matter. The regional salt rocks of the Early Permian play better sealing role to the sub-salt reservoirs mainly formed in Paleozoic and dominated by organic buildup reef and anticline as types of reservoir traps. It is thought that the most favorable structural units are the zone beaded barrier reef of Permian and adjacent areas to Karachaganak oil-gas condensate field characterized by Carboniferous-Devonian reef carbonate rocks.
