The district of Gu Cheng in Lijiang, Yunnan Province is located in geological hazards easily occurring areas. The geological hazards include landslides, mudflows. The geological hazards have already caused not only enormous losses of the lives and properties, but also threat to the local sustainable development of the society and economics, and even investment environment. This time, on the basis of the disastrous investigations and analysis for the study area, the authors divided the area into three types according to the degree of hazards: high, medium-prone areas and low-prone areas. What’s more, the authors analyzed and evaluated them separately. Among these three types, the high prone areas is located along the bank of Jinsha River which covers an area of 594.07 Km2. It is an important district for us to prevent and program; the medium-prone areas is situated in the middle of Gu Cheng and its area is 550.68 Km2; the area of Gu Cheng and the basin of Lijiang is the district of low-prone, and it covers an area of 80.79 Km2. At last, aiming at the condition of the study area, the authors presented a previous programming and established an early-warning network system for monitoring.
