摘要

Based on the distribution of the Late Cenozoic strata, stratigraphic relation and around structures, Chengdu Plain is situated in the synclinal depression. During Middle Himalaya Movement, Chengdu synclinal depression grew. It is a decollement in the deposits overlying the basement of Yangtze Platform. There are four active faults in Chengdu Plain. But their activity is little during Late Cenozoic era. A preliminary division of six stages is done on the tectonic evolution for Chengdu Plain. Furthermore, the correlation of the fault activities between Chengdu Plain and Longmen Mountains is made in this paper.
