To unify the recognition and classification of stratigraphy, guided by the theory of sequence stratigraphy, combined with the development characteristics of stratum thickness and paleobiology feature of stratum, some methods such as the key bed method, the logging-seismic combination analysis method and the correlation of dense well pattern in fault-block and standard well pattern among fault-blocks method are comprehensively developed to classify and correlate the upper section stratum of the Eogene system Sha-3 in Olituozi area. The conclusion is that the upper section stratum can be divided into 4 oil layer groups, 11 sandstone groups and 19 substrata. And the results are proved to be effective for the development.
