Research on Environmental and Geotechnical Engineering Problems in Underground Engineering

As a research theory and analysis method of environmental and geotechnical engineering as well as geological disaster, preferred plane analysis can be used to offer scientific gist for the stability analysis, design and operation of underground engineering. The theory of preferred plane is used in many important aspects including water conservancy like the Three Gorges Project, Heishan Gorge and Daliushu, engineering of traffic main stem like Yunlianshan tunnel of railroad and Laoshan tunnel of expressway, nuclear power station and storage power station in south Jiangsu and Nanjing subway. Through understandings for site selection, safety evaluations, design and construction, the authors analyzed the research aims i.e. stability and water bursting, main problems i.e. search of preferred plane or layer, timbering design method, harmony of support and waterproof design.
