The study on the Yuezhao-Pipa volcanic rocks in Wudu district of Gansu Province shows that the volcanic rocks formed in the tectonic setting of oceanic island in Qingbaikou Period. They were mainly basic- and acid-end member missing neutral-end member rocks, belonged to typical bimodal volcanic rocks and were not a part of Ophiolite. The determination of this set of bimodal volcanic rocks has an important significance to the tectonic evolution of the West Qinling orogenic belt.
