Based on ETM+ (TM) satellite image data and improved major component analysis technology, the authors extracted and analyzed the iron-stained and hydroxyl anomaly alteration information in the region of Zhenjiang with the help of known ore spots and geophysical and geochemical information. Restricted by Quaternary System and the mantled plantation, though the effect of the extracted alteration information was not as good as that from the bedrock exposed areas, still the extracted alteration anomaly information could be served as ore prospecting indicator.
