The Kajiwa landslide lies on the left bank of the Muli River nearby the planned Kajiwa Hydropower Station, being a giant ancient bedrock landslide. Its stability is of great importance to the hydropower station. This paper deals with its boundary condition, deformation characteristics and genetic mechanism and assesses its stability. This landslide is representative of bend and pull-apart landslides in alpine valley, western Sichuan Province. Study of the genetic mechanism and stability is of significance to understanding the same landslide type.
