摘要
In this paper, the research of the Paleogene-Neogene biostratigraphic boundary is carried out mainly by microfossil data of planktonic foraminifera, calcareous nannoplankton, dinoflagellate and sporo-pollen from more than 50 wells in the western zhujiangkou Basin. Based on the above-mentioned analysis, the stratigraphic significance of the index fossils are discussed including planktonic foraminifera Globigerina ciperoensis, Globigerinoides trilobus, Globoquadrina dehiscens, and calcareous nannoplankton Sphenolithus ciperoensis, Zygrhablithus bijugatus and Reticulofenestra bisecta. Therefore, the standard of the Paleogene-Neogene biostratigraphic boundary is redefined in this area.
