Kangxiwar fault is one of most important fault in the main ridge of West Kunlun Mountains in the northwest edge region of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, which is the boundary fault between the west Kunlun Plate and Karakorun Plate. The discovery of jadeitite in Maeryang area, where lies the west section of Kangxiwar junction zone, besides the find of granulite, confirms further that Kangxiwar junction zone is an ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic complex zone with the characteristic of deep subduction, maybe a western-extended part of the central compound orogenic belt.
