///This paper analyzed the forming conditions, the types and the development characteristics, and the distribution and developmental mechanism of the geological disasters in Datong City. The analysis indicated that, the distribution and development of geological disasters in Datong City are mainly related to the terrain landform, the stratum rock, the geological structure, the disaster spot density, the atmospheric precipitation and the unreasonable human engineering activities. Then, a comprehensive criteria of fuzzy mathematics was used for the geological disasters zoning, dividing it into three zones: extremely easy happening area to happening area, and hardly happening area. Finally, prevention countermeasures were put forward according to the zoning results.
