摘要
Xixia Basin was an extensional transtension basin which occurred inYanshanian. Sedimentary lithofacies and the characteristics of depositional system of Xixia Basin were studied on the basis of stratigraphic distribution and sedimentary formation characteristics. Red thick molasses formation in Xixia Basin consists dominantly of normal graded bed sequence, which is divided into Gaogou Fm, Majiagou Fm and Sigou Fm from top to down. According to the characteristics of rock association of basin, the depositional system in Xixia Basin is divided into alluvial and diluvial fan, braided river-meandering river, shallow lake and marine-continental transition faceis. Finally the authors analyze the progress of evolution and development about basin sediment.
