摘要
The Foping dome is located in the junction of the Eastern and Western Qinling, and mainly composed of Precambrian metamorphic basement rock and widespread Indosinian granite intruded into the former. The Foping dome underwent multi-period and multilevel deformation. Analysis of palaeotectonic stress field was performed on the Foping dome and peripheral area by measuring and counting the foliation and lineation of the rocks. The results show that the foliation of the strata exhibit circle features with outward trending in the Foping county dome and Longcaoping dome. The results show that the Foping dome was formed by the domal uplifting of the basement, which might be closely related to the deep magmatism and granite intrusion as a result of the northward subduction of the Yangtze Plate. The authors discover two phases of structural deformation in the Foping dome, the first phase deformation was featured by the high angles of compressive stress (σ1) and nearly horizontal extensional stress(σ3); the second phase was featured by the nearly N-S or NE-SW horizontal compression(σ1), and E-W or NW-NE extension(σ3). Regarding the regional geology and the analysis of stress field, it can be concluded that the Foping dome might have experienced a close to vertical uplifting in the earlier stage, and was superimposed by the lateral N-S compression.
