Geochemical analysis shows that Bonan Subsag has the material basis for the generation of shale oil. Be- cause of the characteristics of low porosity and low permeability of the oil shale, only partially enriched shale oil can be effectively exploited. According to the relationship between TOC and oil-bearing properties, the classifying and evaluating standards of the oil resources are determined, so three levels are graded and evaluated for the shale oil resources in Lower Member of Es3 of Bonan Subsag. At the same time, with the help of AlogR method, chloroform bitumen ＂A＂ is obtained; by means of chemical dynamic method, the loss of hydrocarbon group is recovered. Fi- nally the amount of the shale oil resources in different muddy intervals of the subsag are calculated. The studies show that Lower Member of Es3 is characterized by much bigger resource potentials, and moreover Grade I is better than Grade II and Grade III, so it is the favorable target for the exploration and development of the petroleum resources.
