In article number 1601250, H. Liu and co-workers reveal that by rationally designing the superhydrophobic electrodes with different underwater wetting state, only the underwater Wenzel-Cassie state shows a clearly enhanced ability in catalyzing ORR, a typical underwater gas-consuming reaction at electrode. It is proposed that maximizing and stabilizing the liquid/gas/solid triphase interface, endowed by the underwater Wenzel-Cassie coexist state, plays a crucial role.
