Tetragonal t-YVO₄, t-GdVO₄ and monoclinic m-LaVO₄ are widely known as host-matrix materials for Ln³⁺-lasant ions in high-gain SRS-active crystals. In this study, many phonon impulsive stimulated Raman scattering (ISRS) was excited under femtosecond pumping for these materials. All of the observed χ⁽³⁾-non-linear lasing components were attributed to the vibrations of the [VO₄]³⁻ structural units of these vanadates. The article gives a short review (in table form) of all known SRS-active crystals with tetragonal zircon-type (ZrSiO₄) and monazite-type (CePO₄) structure and their observed χ⁽³⁾-nonlinear optical effects.
