Ta2O5 reaction with Cl2 and graphite has a strong viability for 873 < T < 1123 K. Replacement of Cl2 by C2Cl4 is possible, although with lower driving force. Reaction wit C2Cl4 should be done under continuous flow in fluidized bed regime. Dilution or O2 presence prevent graphite formation through C2Cl4 decomposition. Kinetic data at 1123 K corroborate simulation results.
