Ti–Al–Si based alloys exhibited 1.5–2 times lower weight gains than Ti−6242 alloy. Oxidation kinetics of all investigated alloys followed a parabolic relationship. Addition of Zr promotes the formation of thin and compact oxide scale. Additional alloying with Sn results in slight loosening and thickening of the scale. Ti–Al–Si based alloys showed a 20% reduction in alpha-case thickness than Ti−6242.
