Preparation of Mn-Zn ferrite nanoparticles and their silica-coated clusters: Magnetic properties and transverse relaxivity

Mn-Zn ferrite particles with size of ≈10 nm are synthesized by hydrothermal method. Their structure and magnetic properties are analysed in dependence on composition. Silica-coated clusters with the size ≈26 nm are prepared as contrast agent for MRI. Their transverse relaxivity shows strong temperature dependence.
