This is the first report for the preparation of 2-phenyl pyridine derivatives using palladium acetate as a catalyst. Exclusive use of palladium acetate as catalyst in presence of oxygen for oxidative cyclization. Easily available aryl ketones and 1,3-diaminopropane used as a staring material.
