Magnetic bio-sorbent hydrogel beads were prepared based on gum tragacance (GT)/GO. poly(AMPS-co-VI)-g-GT, GO and Fe3O4 were used for preparation of magnetic beads. The beads were used for removal of metal ions, cationic (CV) and anionic (CR) dyes. Maximum adsorption was 81.78, 94 and 101.74 mg g−1 for Pb(II), CV and CR, respectively. Column application of magnetic beads are also highly feasible.
