Sensitive determination of silver ion has been achieved with high selectivity. The method is based on anti-aggregation of AuNPs with Tris, in the presence of Ag+. This visual sensing strategy is quite simple, fast and convenient. The method was applied to the determination of Ag+ ion in river and sewage water samples.
