Polyelectrolytes are a powerful tool to protect the protein from aggregation. Similarly charged polyelectrolytes often promote the most efficient protection. GAPDH aggregation can be suppressed by both, the polycation and the polyanion. Protection efficiency depends on loops and tails of the bound polyelectrolyte.
