MgO nanostructure via a sol-gel combustion synthesis method using different fuels: An efficient nano-adsorbent for the removal of some anionic textile dyes
MgO nanostructures were prepared employing hybrid sol-gel combustion method using different fuels. Oxalic acid fuel generated pure MgO nanostructure with the smallest crystallite size. The as-prepared MgO nanostructures showed high adsorption capacities toward Reactive Red 195 and Orange G anionic dyes. The adsorption results fitted well the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir adsorption isotherm models. Adsorption of the dyes was exothermic, physisorption and spontaneous process.
