Molecular design of cytocompatible amphiphilic redox-active polymers for efficient extracellular electron transfer

pMFcs are amphiphilic redox-active polymers that act as electron mediators for EET. Rates of EET can be controlled by regulating the properties of pMFc polymers. Hydrophobicity and molecular weight were important factors for the EET rate. Metabolism of yeast was regulated via EET using the pMFc with the highest EET rate.
