A rapid BCA-based micro-plate colorimetric assay was developed for the determination of copper in animal feed. An approach of statistical partitioning correction was proposed to eliminate matrix effect from sample extract. The whole assay procedure can be completed within 20 min. The analytical results by this assay are consistent with that by conventional instrumental analysis.
