UCBT is a suitable option for patients with infant acute leukemia in remission. In patients with acute leukemia diagnosed before the age of 1 year, those with AML had a better outcome than children with ALL after UCBT. Improved survival and decreased TRM was recorded for patients transplanted on or after 2004.
