Anodization of bismuth doped TiO2 nanotubes composite for photocatalytic degradation of phenol in visible light

Bismuth doped TiO2 catalyst was successfully synthesized by one-step anodization. Optimum conditions were 1.0 M bismuth nitrate with anodization at 40 V for 2 h. Bi-TNT sample showed 4 times higher phenol degradation than undoped TNT in PC mode. In PEC activity, phenol degradation was 5.2 times higher at 0.5 V external bias. Bi-doping on TNT improved visible light activity, reduced recombination of charges.
