Short-term FLX treatment in adult male rats activates corticosterone secretion. FLX attenuates the stress-induced hyperthermia response in adult rats. FLX reduces ARC-POMC mRNA expression in mildly stressed adult rats. FLX had behavioral stress-like effects and induced negative energy balance. CRH-POMC interaction might be the basis for the effects of FLX and stress.
