Ethyl acetate oxidation was tested over Cu/CeO2, Cu/Gd2O3, Cu/La2O3 and Cu/Sm2O3. A close correlation between the oxidation performance and redox properties was revealed. Cu/CeO2 had the best performance due to its high reducibility and labile oxygen. Complete conversion of ethyl acetate was attained at temperatures lower than 280 °C.
