Plasma membrane ATPase and H+ transport activities of microsomal membranes from wheat roots under Ni deficiency conditions as affected by exogenous histidine
Ni uptake partially proceeds through active mechanism mediated by PM H+-ATPase. Using Ni enhanced the activity of PM- H+-ATPase. Using His together with Ni resulted in higher Ni uptake but lower H+-ATPase activity. His application increased symplastic to apoplastic Ni ratio in wheat roots.
