Impaired adipose HDAC activity in human obese subjects and obese mice. HDAC5 and HDAC6 expression is reduced in adipocytes of obese mice and human. The expression of HDAC5, HDAC6 and ICER is altered by hypoxia in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. ICER regulates hypoxia-sensitive adipokines expression. Hdac5 and Hdac6 control the expression of ICER and glucose uptake in adipocytes.
