Diosmin induces oxidative stress and DNA damage in breast cancer cells. Diosmin promotes both cytostatic and cytotoxic autophagy. Cytostatic autophagy results in stress-induced premature senescence. Cytotoxic autophagy leads to apoptosis. Cytotoxic autophagy is accompanied by nitrosative stress.
