A total of 11 specimens including unreinforced, collar and doubler plate reinforced SHS T-joints were tested. The conducted finite element modellings are in good agreement with the test. An extensive parametric study was carried out on the behaviour of plate reinforced SHS T-joints under axial compression. Design equations are presented for predicting ultimate loads of the plate reinforced SHS T-joints under axial compression.
