EE prevents anxiety-like behavior triggered immediately after acute restraint stress. EE does not prevent stress-induced increases in serum CORT levels. EE prevents increased GR nuclear translocation in BLA induced by restraint stress. Protective effect of EE can be due to controlling BLA neuronal activity. ERK and CREB activity in BLA are decreased by both acute restraint stress and EE.
