The aminoallenylidene [Mo{CCC(Me)NEt2}(dppe)(η-C7H7)][BPh4] has been synthesised. Cumulenic and Iminium Alkynyl resonance forms contribute to the overall structure. Reversible one-electron oxidation to the radical dication is observed. The allenylidene ν(CCC) stretch shifts to higher wavenumber following oxidation.
