Sintered at low temp. HA deprives culture medium of Ca2+ causing cell death in vitro. HA/glucan scaffold containing highly reactive HA was fabricated based on 2 methods. New method uses Ca2+ instead of heat treatment for β-1,3-glucan gelation. New method protects against Ca2+ uptake by sintered at low temp. HA. New method reduces cytotoxic effect of highly reactive HA caused by the Ca2+ uptake.
