Exposure of juvenile turbot (Scophthalmus maximus) to silver nanoparticles and 17α-ethinylestradiol mixtures: Implications for contaminant uptake and plasma steroid hormone levels
Juvenile turbots were exposed to silver nanoparticles and EE2 individually and in mixtures. Plasma vitellogenin and steroid hormone levels were investigated. Plasma EE2 and vitellogenin concentrations were similar in fish from single and mixed exposures. High AgNP concentrations in combination with EE2 caused a decrease in plasma levels of some steroid hormones.
