Treatment of the in situ generated Me₂NCSSeNa with (PPh₃)₂NiBr₂ in degassed MeCN or THF gave a violet complex (PPh₃)Ni(Br)(κ²S,Se-SSeCNMe₂) (1). Attempts to crystalize the salt Me₂NCSSeNa produced the dimeric compound (Me₂NCSSe)₂ (2). Complex 1 was characterized by ¹H, ¹³C{¹H}, ³¹P{¹H} and ⁷⁷Se NMR spectroscopy as well as mass spectrometry, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography.
