Preconception personality disorder was associated with antenatal anxiety symptoms. Personality disorder was also associated with antenatal depressive symptoms. Adjustment for prior common disorder reduced effect on depression, but not anxiety. Prior personality disorder is a consideration in assessing maternal mental health.
