Chitosan derivatives were synthesized by nucleophilic substitution of alkyl bromide. Chitosan modification by different quaternary ammonium grafting. Chemical structures of the chitosan derivatives were fully analyzed by NMR and FTIR. Bacterial inhibitory property of some derivatives is significantly improved.
