Lycopene decreases ROS production through NADPH oxidase-mediated by PKC pathway. Lycopene protects the liver injury induced by APAP. It ameliorates the antioxidant enzyme system in liver. It protects against oxidative damage. It promotes the downregulation of MMP-2 and decreased liver necrotic areas.
