We present a self-consistent tight-binding model for nanoscale capacitance.

In a carbon nano-gap, electrode capacitance increases with the electrode size.

Effective capacitance of a nano-device in a nano-gap is converged but rather small.

The concepts of semi-infinite electrodes and reservoirs may be inapplicable in modeling dynamic transport.
