Plasma endothelial microparticles reflect the extent of capillaroscopic alterations and correlate with the severity of skin involvement in systemic sclerosis
EMPs are associated with particular microvascular alterations objectified on NVC. Quantity and phenotype of EMPs might reflect progressive loss of capillaries in SSc. Total EMPs inversely correlate with the severity of skin involvement. Levels of EMPs might be associated with microvascular complications.
