Oral acute and sub-acute toxicities of Attalea phalerata Mart. ex Spreng oil were studied. The fruit has a high content of carotenoids and healthy fatty acids. The organs of the animals had a normal size and no macroscopic change. Toxic changes were not observed in biochemical and hematological parameters. The pulp oil does not affect the histological parameters.
