Pd/Mn-hexaluminate catalyst, alone and Pt-doped, were examined in CH4 oxidation. Water and sulfur resistance of Pd/Mn-hexaluminate was improved by some Pt addition. Balance between oxidation ability and H2O/SOx-tolerance is controlled by Pt/Pd ratio. Dispersed PdO covering metal Pd particles was the most active to methane oxidation. The PtPd alloy was resistant to deactivation by water and sulfur.
