The breeding program has provided important changes in açaí bioactive compounds. Cyanidin 3-glucoside and cyanidin 3-rutinoside are the main anthocyanins found. Hydroethanolic extracts from açaí have a high content of carotenoids. All genotypes, except L04P16, showed antioxidant and neuroprotective effects.
