Microstructure, basic thermal-mechanical and Charpy impact properties of W-0.1 wt.% TiC alloy via chemical method

The W-0.1 wt.% TiC alloys with TiC particles uniformly distributed in grain interiors were fabricated by wet-chemical method.

The W–TiC-2 alloy achieved tensile elongation of 19.3% and showed fully ductile behavior at 300 °C.

The DBTT of the W–TiC-2 alloy obtained from tensile test was lower than 300 °C.

The W–TiC-2 alloy achieved the highest Charpy absorbed energies at 400–900 °C and the lowest DBTT of about 450 °C.
