Reduced and oxidized humic acid (HA) had distinct role on ferrihydrite nanoparticles transport. Low HAred/ox concentration hindered ferrihydrite mobility due to aggregation. Lower ferrihydrite transport occurred in higher HAred versus HAox concentration. Reductive dissolution of ferrihydrite in high HAred concentration decreased transport. The role of HA's redox state should be incorporated into the traditional transport framework.
