A novel flow cell to study surface fouling under constant thermodynamic conditions. Mineral fouling on surfaces can occur solely due to a nucleation/crystal growth. Saturation ratio has a strong effect on nucleation/growth of barite on surfaces. The study emphasizes the limit of current method used to evaluate MIC.
